Marbella Belles

June 1, 2017

Me and the Mister have an apartment in Mijas, near Marbella in the Costa Del Sol, which we try and visit about two to three times a year. As our brood has expanded to three young boys in total, we are now looking for a villa in Marbella so we can enjoy the Summer months, not only with the family but as a couple and with my girls too!

Marbella is like my second home, and one of my favourite places to visit in Europe, so every year we go we always venture out to find new and exciting places to visit.

We always get the 6.30am flight to Malaga airport so we can make the most of the day, collect our hire car for the weekend, and head to our apartment. The weather is predominantly predicted at 28c-31c during the Summer months, which is great news for sun worshippers, not me who always suffers from heat rash! Day one always consists of unpacking, freshening up and heading straight our favourite local beach club, El Oceano in Mijas for a chilled out brunch, followed by a drive to Puerto Banus for lunch at La Sala, and mocktails at Pedro’s beach bar.

We had booked dinner reservations at Olivia’s Restaurant in La Cala which is right next door to where we live, so we headed there for 8pm where we had an al fresco dining table by the beach. Olivia’s is owned by ex TOWIE star Elliot Wright, the staff were super friendly, and very attentive. We dined on fillet steak, parmesan mash and a medley of vegetables which was very well presented and tasted divine. Its located in a Spanish residential area, so its recommended to take a cab rather than drive, but once your in, the experience is worth it. We even headed there for breakfast the next day!

Saturdays in Marbella can only mean one thing…Ocean Club! We booked our VIP bed which usually accommodates 8 guests and comes with a bottle of Dom Perrigon champagne. A bit over excessive for 2 people, but we like to book our beds on the 1st line near the pool. This day is all about wearing glam beachwear, embellished kaftans, funky wedges and designer shades. Its a place to be seen and notorious for their champagne spray events. Celebs often flock to this venue for daytime beach clubbing so be prepared to see a few famous faces.

Ocean Club was as amazing as it always is, eating sushi, drinking champagne and lounging around to uplifting house music, the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon. After a quick shower and change at the beach club, we headed down to Puerto Banus for dinner in our favourite restaurant Ola’s and mocktails in Bambilonia’s. The port is one of the most prestigious places in the Costa Del Sol. You will see supercars driving down the street and super yachts moored in the sea, the perfect place to people watch. The port also showcases some of the worlds most influential designers, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbanna, Tom Ford, to name a few, all have stores situated here beautiful placed in between uber cool bars and restaurants.

Staying at our apartment is great, but I get cabin fever. We usually stay in the Guadalpin Banus as the location is perfect for stepping out on to the port for drinking and dining, but we were looking for something a bit more tranquil, so I checked us into a 5 star hotel 10 minutes along the coast. We had breakfast at Bono beach which is a new beach club in Las Chapas, and checked in Los Monteros Hotel and Golf resort for an overnight stay. The hotel as very traditional old school Marbella, but houses one of the most stunning contemporary beach clubs, La Cabane. We booked a cabana for the day right on the beach and spent our last afternoon soaking up the sun.

We couldn’t go home without visiting Nikki Beach so we booked to have lunch there and catch the back end of the ‘Amazing Sundays’. The drums, saxophonists, and funky house tunes didn’t fail to impress us, and I ordered my usual Sexy Sushi Salad, and fruit platter. We usually book a beach bed for the day and enjoy a full rosta of entertainment whilst drinking and dining in between. This venue is one of the best beach clubs in the world. I’ve visited the Nikki Beach franchises in Ibiza, Koh Samui,  and St Tropez and this one tops them all. Its pure sophistication and class from the minute you arrive to the minute you leave. Everyone looks like they’ve stepped out of a Victoria Secrets campaign, and has a guest list of some of the worlds most affluent people.

A three day weekend is enough time to really get to see and experience Marbella. Its the perfect playground for girls to go away and really strut their stuff. The beach clubs are lively, the restaurants are exquisite and Puerto Banus is one of the worlds biggest catwalks. So for ladies looking for a weekend of partying rather than relaxing, Marbella is made for you!
